Thinkeasy (poem)
A recording of Andrea reading her poem "thinkeasy". All technology outdates itself eventually.

The yellowjacket couch actually existed, a former Bukowski wannabee roommate carted the discarded item back to their self-created hovel of an apartment in pre-hipster Williamsburg. It was definately more than a mere description of the color.

After Autumn (poem)

This is Andrea's poem that the song "After Autumn" springs from.

An aside: Some people have asked if the song is about 9-11. It was never meant to be, but it was the song that Andrea and Mark started to work on in the days shortly after the tragedy so perhaps it was colored by it.

The poem is nominally about an eclipse in Ohio back in the 1990s. The way the trees and their shadows looked in its aftermath. But it is about more than that, autumn doesn't just mean the season. It is a literal poem and it isn't.

Only a few people know what I mean and they have probably forgotten.

Winter 2000 MAKAR Radio Interview on WUSB part 1
This is part one of MAKAR’s first and only radio interview on Stony Brook’s WUSB 90.1 FM on Kate Marlborough’s “Don’t Look Now” show. You'll understand why once you hear Andrea try to read a PA announcement while on cold medication (or at least that's her excuse)... Stream It

The Monkey - Hackensack sessions
Back in 2000 when the world had yet to hear of Makar, they recorded six songs with their friend and soon to be bassist Dan Coates. You're not going to hear any results of those sessions except for this very very low-fi tidbit. The chorus of the slowest version of "The Monkey" the world has ever heard.

The entire version of the song aired on the WUSB interview back in 2000.

Winter 2000 MAKAR Radio Interview on WUSB part 2
Here is the second portion of our infamous interview on WUSB. We discuss (not quite lucidly) the origins of songs and the creative process. If you listen closely enough, you can hear the boom mic being passed between Andrea and Mark.

After listening to this interview, you will also realize that Andrea laughs for no reason most times. (She is blaming it on the cold medication, Mark is blaming it on ADD - Andrea DeAngelis Disorder)

By the way, there is a third and final segment, which you'll never hear...
